I'm writing this post and publishing from my smartphone which is a first for me. Perhaps it will allow me to post briefer posts on a more regular basis but no promises as December looks to be even busier with a trip to Melbourne planned the week before Christmas in order to attend our son's graduation ceremony from RMIT university.
I decided to concentrate my Christmas decorating to one room this year. Our open plan family kitchen/ dining room where we do most of our living! I set up our tree in the corner window and thought I would use some of the vintage props we purchased this year for our business.
I have also decorated our Stanley stove and will bring in more greenery for it closer to Christmas day. The picture I took a few years ago of our decorated candlelit stove seems to be getting lots of repins on pinterest at the moment.
This morning I brought in a little vintage step ladder and draped it with the long, slender fronds from the Kashmiri cypress which graces the front of our home. I adorned the steps with pine cones, tea light candles, doilies, a favourite Christmas book, added a bundle of cinnamon sticks embellished with a silk flower and now I have the perfect place to set out those little gifts that get lost under the tree!

I have no idea whether this mobile app for blogger will let me upload more than one photo. So let's tap done for the text and see what happens!

How delightful to get your update Ann.
I am eating up every morsel of your vintage Christmas. I would love to have the twins give me a lesson in making Crackers; I have always loved the idea of Crackers, but have never participated in the fun event. It would be fun if you posted what you put in them and how you enjoyed them on Christmas. We haven't put our tree up yet. We plan to do that this week.
I have always liked your "Christmas Stove" picture, and have no doubt as it getting a lot of pins. Our stove is in full swing today with cold temperatures and snow. We will decorate our mantel (rather than the stove) and that is always part of the fun. Thanks for all your delightful inspiration.
Have a wonderful December
Love and Blessings
Pam

Hello Anne!
I think Christmas will always be a bit Vintage for me! I think it is all the lovely and familiar traditions. But it is the sweetest because so many are open to the Gospel of Jesus Christ!
I do hope you can post more often, as I miss you! Merry Christmas,
Blessings, Roxy
Oh how lovely and warm!
I too so love vintage, just old pretty, sweet things. : ) Our Christmas tree has lots of old ornaments and the old fashioned silver icicles and reflectors.
Your idea of decorating one area sounds good to me! : ) It is our open area also that is decorated.
Such a lovely home you have there and I have a feeling the loveliness comes mainly from your love for our Lord and the love you all have for each other.
The crackers are lovely... <3
So great to see your blog this evening, I enjoy your natural vintage style and your sweet heart.
Love, Amelia
Hello dear Anne
I love the old ladder - it looks beautiful clothed in green foliage.
I love your tradition of your beautiful vintage Christmas crackers.
The twins have done an amazing job - they've obviously been watching and observing - you must be so proud of your girls Anne.
I've been back working the past week so I'm way behind. Not to worry!
There are only 3 of us for Christmas Day this year and I'm keeping things simple and delicious!
Blessings to you and your wonderful family dear Anne
Much love and hugs
